Make the most of your Go Daddy Marketplace™ store with these expert tips and tools.

While online shopping has many benefits, digital shoppers are not able to handle items like they can in a regular store. So it’s important that your product descriptions answer all the questions they may have. How big is it? What does it feel like? What’s it made of? You may use up to 3,000 characters for each description (including spaces). Don’t forget to mention any guarantees or warranties.
On the product add/edit page, there’s a text box for keywords. While you won’t see your keywords displayed on your Go Daddy Marketplace product pages, they will be used to match your products to shopper searches. So be sure to enter keywords for each product you list in Go Daddy Marketplace. Be as specific as possible when choosing keywords.
Choose keywords that describe:
  • What it is – Briefcase, fresh flowers, socks.
  • What it’s made of – Sterling silver, wood, recycled plastic.
  • Who it’s for – Men, women, toddler, infant, dog, cat.
  • Primary color or color combination.
  • Where it’s used – Bath, family room, face.
  • Size (both inches and metric).
  • Style – Traditional, retro, contemporary, Bauhaus.
  • What imagery it features – Rainbow, birds, Celtic cross.
Half the battle of selling on the Internet is making sure buyers find your products. That’s why categories are so important. When choosing the appropriate category and sub-category for your listing, think like a buyer. If you were a shopper looking for a pure mink muff, what category would look in first? Answer: Clothing>Accessories.
Product photographs are the most powerful sales tool you have. Photos must stand in for the real 3D object, showing virtual shoppers what your product looks like, what it’s made of and what it does. A good photo can make the sale. Here are some tips:
  • Photograph your product in the environment in which it will be used.
  • Natural light is best (no flash), so photograph your product near a window.
  • Choose backgrounds – ironed fabric, wood, heavy paper – that won’t distract the viewer.
  • Take a variety of photos of each product showing product size, materials, front/back, uses, etc. (you can include up to 5 images for each product listing).
  • Use the macro setting on your camera to capture product details.
  • Crop your photos so they show your product to its best advantage.
